A painful breakup has left one lonely bibliophile searching for companionship and a fresh start. A local book club seems like the perfect answer—until a visit to a flea-market bookstore places a cracked, leather-bound volume in his hands. Hidden inside is a folding Ouija board and a peculiar rhyme calling upon something known as the Mummer Man. Most of the group considers it harmless fun. Their host, Tara, is not so certain. When the chant ends and she sees a figure approaching through the cottage, skepticism gives way to terror—and the familiar rooms around them begin to obey a far more sinister set of rules.
