Scott Madsen has grown accustomed to sleeping alone. After years of sharing a bed and a troubled marriage, he can finally stretch out, settle in, and rest undisturbed. Then a cold touch follows him out of a dream. He wakes to find a hand wrapped around the foot he left outside the covers. Someone is beside his bed—or beneath it. Whoever it is won’t answer him.
